Trio Named as Finalists for Young Athlete of the Year Prize

Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the 2025 Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
The trio have been celebrated for their exceptional achievements over the last year.
Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin rose to fame with a record-breaking innings.
Littler won the award in 2024 after his remarkable rise.
The three contenders were unveiled on a national radio breakfast show.
The champion will be unveiled on the prestigious sports ceremony show on December 18th.
The show will be broadcast from 7 PM GMT.
The Football Star

Only 90 days after her international debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She entered the fray to score crucial late equalisers in both the quarter-final and semi-final.
Her incredible contributions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the top young European talent.
She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.
Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"Being on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is an honour," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."
Luke Littler
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
Littler's 2025 began in sensational style as - at just 17 years old - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.
He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.
His success continued - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the very first time.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.
"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."
Perrin's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.
Perrin ended up as runner-up in the season's run tally and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm truly honoured to be nominated for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more young females to get into cricket."
