It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

This is the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their hitters to hold a record if never given the possibility.

Finally, the consequence of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to create her most recent brilliance.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy stated recently.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not come up short.

Whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Many contend the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the test that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was far harder to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this performance came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in training, it's been a disappointing period because it seemed my form was missing completely," stated Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive instincts kick in and you completely engage with the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has continuously been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in taking over from iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from that point Healy was in motion.

"A chance to take the field and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

When she was dismissed Australia needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the assurance to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, if we do, we know we can achieve it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this tournament want to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will win from any position has become more firm - this victory following victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she later said she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

But while she later admitted those physical issues have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this championship is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is still to achieve a global event as captain.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
