Performer Denies Anti-Vaccine Views After Lending His Voice To Contentious Pandemic Documentary
The "Taken" star has given his narration to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the safety of immunizations and lauds former government figure the political figure.
The Feature's Contentious Basis
Called "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is inspired by a bestselling book co-authored by a disgraced researcher, who gained notoriety during the global outbreak for allegations that the virus was linked to a faulty batch of the seasonal immunization.
Her co-author, the executive producer, has penned books with far-right figure the Infowars host. He wrote online hailing Neeson's involvement in the film.
An Unequivocal Statement
The team of Liam Neeson have provided a response strongly denying suggestions that he holds anti-vaccine sentiments.
"We all acknowledge that corruption may occur within the medical sector, but that must not be confused with opposition to vaccines," the response explains. "Neeson is not, and cannot be described as, anti-vaccination. His extensive work with Unicef underscores his enduring support for public-health initiatives."
The response added that the performer had no hand in the film's narrative and that inquiries about its content are best addressed to the producers.
Central Claims In the Film
As presented, the voiceover spoken by Neeson makes several strong points:
- It claims that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "complete compliance" to health authorities.
- It posits that "science has become dangerously influenced by politics."
- RFK Jr is featured saying, "The major issue with vaccines is that they just aren't safely tested."
- The narration further attacks pandemic restrictions, claiming they caused severe distress that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
- On the topic of Covid vaccines, it references a perspective that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "hazardous tests."
Historical Background and Ongoing Issues
The film also references a past television report about HIV drug testing on children, which was afterwards the topic of a BBC apology by the network for editorial breaches.
In recent weeks, the political figure called on the national health agency to revise its long-held position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism. This supposed link is echoed in the film, despite a new report from the WHO reiterating no connection has been found.
A Previous Record of Endorsement
Differing from the documentary's narrative, Neeson has in the past expressed clear advocacy for vaccines in his role as a Unicef global ambassador.
In 2022, he described vaccines as "an incredible triumph," stating that "The conversation about vaccines in lately has overlooked how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in our history."
The film ends with Neeson's voice stating, "This marks not the end of our narrative. Rather, it is the dawn of a new chapter."
