Strong winter gusts caused walls to collapse upon fragile shelters sheltering Palestinians uprooted by conflict in Gaza, claiming the lives of at least 4 individuals. These deaths underscores the dangerous situation that continue after more than two years of intense airstrikes and critical lack of humanitarian assistance.

Truce Provides No Relief from Harsh Weather

Although a ceasefire has been active since October, humanitarian organizations state that residents broadly lack the adequate housing necessary to survive recurring cold-weather events.

Medical staff at Shifa hospital, which took in the victims, reported on this week that the dead were two women, a girl, and a man.

In a separate incident, the local health authority stated on the same day that a one-year-old boy succumbed of extreme cold during the night.

Family Crushed in Shelter Collapse
