Beloved Performer The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
American actor Pat Finn, who appeared in popular television series including Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles on Monday after undergoing cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by news outlets.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a statement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Television Career
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a party host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous well-known programs, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
A Life in Improv
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was part of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored many learners throughout the years and it would be difficult to find a person anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
